Crosswalk or Catwalk?

Hey y'all its 2020 and the motto is "We got outfits at home!"  So here am I with another post showing you how to style a staple item in your closet - The Military Jacket.

This is a post I've been meaning to write for a while because my love for the Military Jacket runs deep.  It's one of my most worn items and I've had it in my closet for a few years.  You can literally wear this jacket any season because it's transitional.  Hence why I'm wearing it in January (also it was 60 degrees in Washington, DC last weekend.)

When styling the jacket try layering it with sweaters, flannel, or denim shirts.  You can also put something like a hoodie underneath and dress it down with sneakers.  Pictured above I'm wearing it with a black dress from Forever 21 and an old Off-White belt I found in my closet.  Accessories can be minimal since the military jacket accessorizes itself.  I opted for a clear Yeezy PVC pump (totally not cheap, Kanye West keeps taking all of my money) to compliment the look.

Play around with the jacket and I'm sure you'll make a statement wherever you go.  I've added a few links below to help complete your look.  Go for it and soldier on!

XOXO,

  1. Greek outfits are a popular choice for costumes and themed parties, and can be recreated at home with some creativity and resourcefulness. Here are some ideas for creating Greek outfits at home:

Togas: The most iconic Greek garment is the toga. A simple toga can be made from a white bed sheet or fabric. Drape the sheet over one shoulder, wrap it around the body, and tuck it into a belt or waistband at the waist. Add sandals and a laurel wreath made from faux leaves or green ribbon to complete the look.

Chitons: A chiton is a Greek garment that resembles a long tunic. To make a chiton, drape a large piece of fabric over the body, wrap it under the arm, and secure it at the shoulder with a brooch or safety pin. Belt the chiton at the waist to create a fitted silhouette. Pair with sandals and gold jewelry.

Tunic and leggings: For a simpler Greek outfit, wear a white tunic-style shirt or dress with leggings or skinny pants. Add a gold belt and gold sandals to complete the look.

Accessories: Greek outfits are often accessorized with gold jewelry, such as bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Add a gold headband or tiara for a more regal look.

Creating a Greek outfit at home can be a fun and easy way to get into the spirit of a Greek-themed event or party. With a little imagination and some basic materials, anyone can create a Greek-inspired look that is both stylish and comfortable.
